Swim plugs are made from waterproof material to keep water out of your ears while swimming, showering, or surfing. These plugs are perfect for those who are prone to swimmer’s ear or who have middle ear tubes.
Swim plugs are created from ear impressions we take at your appointment. The impressions are used to design custom plugs that prevent water leaks or discomfort. Our custom swim plugs are floatable and can be made in 13 colors that can be mixed and swirled to make them uniquely yours! Swim plugs take about two weeks from start to finish and can be shipped directly to your door.

How do we make custom plugs?
Making an Earmold Impression: Science Meets Art
Getting a custom earmold or earplug is a lot like being fitted for the perfect pair of shoes, but for your ears! It starts with taking a careful look inside your ear with an otoscope. This is to make sure everything is clean and ready for the process. Then, your audiologist will place a small, soft piece of foam or cotton deep in your ear canal. This pice of foam, or otoblock, keeps the impression material from going too far in your canal.
Next is the fun part. The audiologist will mix up a soft, putty-like silicone material. They will gently fill the canal and outer ear with the putty where it will sit and harden for a few minutes. Once it has hardened, the audiologist will remove the impression and mail it to our U.S. manufacturer. The impression will serve as the blueprint for your new earmold.
